Countdown to Osheaga – Hannah Georgas

I’ve been a fan of Vancouver songstress Hannah Georgas for years now, but it’s been her latest self-titled album that’s pushed my love over the edge. Evolving from acoustic singer/songwriter to fusing electronic elements (c/o producer Graham Walsh from Canadian electro superstars Holy Fuck) with her honest vocals, Hannah has become a force to reckon with in the Canadian music scene. This year, she was nominated for multiple Juno Awards (including Alternative Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year), and her most recent album is long-listed for the Polaris Music Prize — all incredibly deservedly so.

I had the pleasure of seeing Hannah perform at the Canada Blast BBQ at SXSW in March, and can’t wait to see her perform on the Galaxie Tree Stage on Sunday, August 4 (set time is 4:40!). If you can’t get to Osheaga, you can see Hannah perform at the following gigs:

July 19 // Vancouver Folk Festival (Vancouver, BC)
July 26 // Rock of the Woods 2013 (Glenora, BC)
August 9 // Mudtown Festival (Owen Sound, ON)
August 31 // Wolfe Island Music Festival (Wolfe Island, ON)
September 15 // Whistler Presents Outdoor Concert (Whistler, BC)
November 7 // NAC Fourth Stage (Ottawa, ON)
November 8 // NAC Fourth Stage (Ottawa, ON)
